December honeymoon in Philippines

Looking for advice from those who've been to the Philippines please 🙂

We're travelling to the Philippines for the first time for our honeymoon in early December. Based on activities we want to do (island hopping, snorkeling, laidback outdoorsy fun), we'd like to go to El Nido and/or Coron.

We will fly there from Manila and want to limit other domestic travel as its honeymoon and we want to travel more relaxed than usual, and South Africa to Manila is a long trip already.

Are 9 nights (+1 in Manila day before we fly home) too long to spend in El Nido and Coron? Would you recommend we visit another place in Palawan too? We don't want to stay in more than 3 places preferably and want a mix of fun activities and taking things slow, chilling at the hotel and visiting a spa etc.

Our budget is a bit tight being a young couple from South Africa, so if you have any great mid-range accommodation recommendations suitable for honeymoon, please recommend those too.
