December Honeymoon to Maldives

Hi guys! I’m getting married in December and my fiancée and I were thinking of going to Maldives for our honeymoon. The problem is that I’ve heard it’s quite expensive and ideally I’d like to stay within a $5K budget for about 7 nights. Also I’m not sure what the weather is like in December as I’ve read conflicting information.

Do you guys have any suggestions on a specific resort (preferably something private) with easy access to outdoor/indoor activities? Or maybe another location that would be easier on my budget & be more “all-inclusive”?

Ideally we don’t want to go through a lot of hassle when it comes to dining or activities but we are willing to put in the energy if we do need to.
