Delayed Honeymoon to the Maldives

We’re planning our long-delayed honeymoon (postponed due to personal reasons) and are looking at the Maldives, specifically the Park Hyatt, for a 5-night stay. We're currently deciding between going in January 2026 or November 2026

Here’s the dilemma:

• If we go in January 2026, we only have enough Chase points to cover 3 nights (we recently just used a lot of points unfortunately before planning this). Then, the plan would be to use points for a beach villa for those 3 nights and pay cash for 2 nights in an overwater villa, which can be expensive
• If we wait until November 2026, we’ll likely have enough points to cover all 5 nights and can then pay extra to upgrade 2 of those nights to overwater. But that would mean delaying our honeymoon by more than 2.5 years from our actual wedding date.

We’re planning to use Amex points for the flight

Would love any suggestions or perspectives, whether from a points-maximization standpoint or simply making the trip feel more special despite the delay. Thanks!
