Did you go home straight after the wedding?

My partner and I get married in September. We have a room at our venue for the night before and night of our wedding with check out at 10am. I’m thinking it might be nice to boom somewhere for the night after our wedding? Perhaps somewhere with a hot tub as we usually like that when we go away. My question is, is it worth it? Has anyone else stayed away the night after their wedding and enjoyed it, or did you just want to get home?

For info, we get married on a Thursday so we’d be staying at the venue Thursday > Friday and then be looking to booking where Friday > Saturday. We are then having our honeymoon in December/Jan as we’re going to Asia and need to avoid the rainy season
