We got married in May 2025 and decided to save our honeymoon for December (Christmas time) since we already used up a ton of leave for the wedding. At that time, we didn’t stress too much about it — figured there are so many places to see, and since neither of us has ever been abroad, it was definitely going to be an international trip.
Fast forward a few months… and now we’re stuck in analysis paralysis. Here’s how it’s been going: 1. Northern Lights – Looked dreamy, but the price tag slapped us right back to reality. Way out of budget. 2. Western Europe – People told us it’s crazy expensive and honestly kinda dead during Christmas. 3. Southern/Eastern Europe – My partner was not feeling it, so that’s a no. 4. Seychelles – Looked great at first, but now I’m second-guessing myself. 5. Other contenders – Thailand, Bali, Mauritius, Vietnam… all floating in the mix.
Our main struggle: we’re strict vegetarians (don’t even eat eggs), so food is always a consideration. And since we’re planning another trip around June/July, we don’t want to blow the entire budget on this one.
So yeah, kinda stuck here. Anyone else been through the same dilemma? Where would you go if you were us? I feel like there is so much out there but does anyone have any recommendations for a nice spot of winter travel? Thanks!
