East Europe Honeymoon Advice (Dec ‘24-Jan’25)

Hello, my partner and I are getting married in December and are planning our honeymoon in East Europe from 25th December to January first week (around 2 weeks in total). We will be flying from India and our overall budget would be around $8-10k. Can be a little flexible by using points for flights and some hotel stays!

We wish to cover Prague (maybe Cesky Krumlov), Budapest and some parts of Austria (Vienna/Innsbruck etc). While we realize it will be pretty cold, we are excited to see the Christmas markets and Prague has always been one of our dream destinations. Hoping to get advice from this subreddit on the following:

  1. Itinerary – We were thinking 4 nights Czechia, 3 nights Hungary and the rest in Austria. Is it too much?

  2. Hotel recommendations – Understand stays would be expensive around this time but looking for good 4-5 star hotel recommendations which do not cost an arm and a leg 🙂

  3. We are debating whether we should fly in to Prague on 24th Dec or on 25th Dec. When will be the best time to get Christmas vibes and explore the markets?

  4. Any other recommendations on alternative destinations nearby. Could potentially skip Austria for another country (maybe somewhere warmer or with beaches?)? Open to suggestions!

  5. Anything else to be wary of?

Thanks in advance, I love this subreddit 🙂
