Driving through Ohio – air safety concerns?

We are driving through Ohio to get to our honeymoon destination this fall (about 7 months out), and I have already booked a couple spots to stay in or around Cleveland – just for the drive on the way to our destination and back.

My husband is very concerned that due to the train derailment in East Palestine that the entire state of Ohio is unsafe to stay in due to the chemicals, and that we should consider cancelling our reservations there.

Is this a valid concern I should be taking more seriously? I am not having much luck googling the radius affected where people are getting sick from the chemicals, or how long they may be affecting people.
