Excellence Punta Cana vs Excellence El Carmen in the DR

Hi all! After posting about Caribbean resorts yesterday my fiancé and I decided we’re going to one of these two resorts for our honeymoon. Most aspects look the same and we were leaning towards Punta Cana. But I’ve read several times that the Punta Cana resort has a noticeably more middle age demographic. We’re in our 20s, but we’re not exactly looking for a party scene or to socialize a lot, so I’m not sure this would make much of a difference. Has anyone been to either of these that can confirm this, and do you think it should sway my decision?
