Feedback on boutique, private villa resorts

We're looking to honeymoon in December 2024 in the Caribbean (but not DR or Mexico – been there a bunch and want to go somewhere different for our HM) at a boutique style, all inclusive, adults only resort. We're looking for more a romantic, luxury, customer service type of atmosphere. We're in the northeast US & looking at a 9-ish night stay with a budget of $10-13k.

Some criteria:

  • all inclusive
  • adults only
  • Caribbean but not DR or Mexico (looking at St. Lucia, Antigua, etc. — open to other islands)
  • private village/cottage/suite (rather than room at a resort)
  • private plunge pool in the villa/cottage
  • boutique/luxury style (as opposed to a more standard AI)
  • beach access at the resort (for lounging & getting in the ocean) – this eliminated some St Lucia resorts for us due to no beach access
  • personal room butler/concierge

Resorts I've looked at & our thoughts based on reviews & browsing their sites (please provide any feedback):

  • Hammock Cove Antigua – love the vibe here, but the beach is small & not the idyllic turquoise water Antigua is known for. Plunge pool may be cold in December/in the shade. This resort would be perfect if it wasn't for the somewhat lacking beach (but probably still a top contender).
  • Calabash Cove St. Lucia – a little more rustic than we'd want. no concierge/butler.
  • Galley Bay – no concierge/butler.
  • Cocobay Antigua – really liked what i saw/read about this resort, but no concierge/butler.
  • Serenity at coconut bay – almost perfect (similar vibes to Hammock Cove) but rough waters & more importantly, out of budget 🙁 — 19k for 9 nights in December
  • Hermitage bay – liked it but out of budget.
  • COCOs Antigua – rustic vibe. no concierge/butler.
  • Sandals – considered them, but probably not quite the vibe we're after & the butler/plunge suites are mostly out of budget.

Does anyone have any other resort suggestions or feedback? Out of all of them, Hammock Cove is probably at the top of the list & closest to what we're looking for. I also worry that the great reviews/media attention related to HC are from bloggers/influencers leading to the resort being a bit overhyped.

We appreciate any help!! 🙂
