My partner and I are planning our honeymoon for April 2025, and we have a 17-day trip planned. We got to this itinerary because I want to see The Great Barrier Reef, and my partner wants to stay on a tropical island, plus we like the idea of having flown around the world. We’re limited by our work schedules and cannot book much longer off. We’d love to get some feedback on our itinerary as we’re concerned that we might be trying to fit in too much travel in the time we have. Here’s a summary of our plan:

Itinerary:

1. London to Cairns (via Singapore)

• Departure: Early morning from London
• Arrival: Late afternoon in Cairns (including a 3-hour 10-minute layover in Singapore)

2. Cairns, Australia (5 nights)

• Accommodation: Cairns city center or nearby
• Activities: Great Barrier Reef tour and Skyrail Rainforest Cableway / Kuranda

3. Cairns to Sydney

• Departure: Afternoon from Cairns
• Arrival: Early evening in Sydney (direct flight)

4. Sydney, Australia (2 nights)

• Accommodation: Sydney Harbour area
• Activities: Explore Sydney at our own pace

5. Sydney to Tahiti (via Auckland)

• Departure: Late morning from Sydney
• Arrival: Early morning in Tahiti (including a 2-hour 45-minute layover in Auckland)

6. Moorea & Tahiti, French Polynesia

• Moorea (4 nights):
  • Accommodation: Moorea island area
  • Activities: Relax, snorkeling, and local culture
• Tahiti (1 night):
  • Accommodation: Tahiti island area

7. Tahiti to Los Angeles

• Departure: Early morning from Tahiti
• Arrival: Evening in Los Angeles (direct flight)

8. Los Angeles, USA (2 nights)

• Accommodation: Hollywood or nearby
• Activities: Explore LA at our own pace

9. Los Angeles to London

• Departure: Late afternoon from Los Angeles
• Arrival: Late morning the next day in London (direct flight)
