First time traveling to Europe for honeymoon trip next year

Hello everyone

I am planning a trip for me and my fiancé for our honeymoon next year. We will be getting married in June and plan to take the trip in end of August/early September (I know that’s busier season). She wants to go to Italy and I would like to visit Greece so we plan on trying to split the trip somewhere between 10-14 days. For first time visitors does it make sense to stay in Rome and then Athens? Or are there other locations that would be more worthwhile. Thanks a lot
