My fiancé and I had decided to go with a luxury travel agency to book our honeymoon (Oct or Nov 2025). I wanted someone to plan something for us because usually I’m the one who handles all the trip planning and I just wanted it off my plate this time around.
I had reached out to a luxury travel agency based in Toronto (we live in Nova Scotia, but I don’t think it’s an issue to be in different provinces) over the summer. We had a chat and I thought it went well. I was expecting to hear back within a few weeks, understanding that I had reached out REALLY far in advance. But I haven’t heard back again. I sent an email a couple weeks ago, but still nothing.
So I guess I have a few questions: 1. When it comes to a splurge honeymoon like this, what are the pros/cons of planning it myself vs getting a travel agent? 2. When would I have to start booking things to get a nice blend of reasonable pricing (relatively speaking, I know it’s splurge!) and good availability? 3. Any suggestions for luxury travel agencies that you’ve had good luck with?
