Going North for Winter?

Looking to go to a winter spa for our honeymoon. Would be nice to not need a car. We are down for some winter sports like skiing but we would like to have some spa amenities (mainly massages) to retreat to.

I'm a bit worried that most things will be shut down, it would be nice to roam around a town a bit but the above experience is the only must.

We were thinking Washington, Oregon, Vermont, Maine, possibly Montana.

Any suggestions are very appreciated, there are so many places… (Thought about just picking a state and sticking to it but I'm afraid I'll overlook a fantastic stay).
