Great honeymoon options?

I booked some direct flights for 15 days to Paris from Toronto and now am in the process of trip-planning. Reason we booked to Paris is because it was a good deal I found. We are not tied to staying in France, but it is certainly an option. We can make our own itinerary and book flights from Paris to wherever. We will be going for a honeymoon/summer vacation and looking for suggestions! We like to see history, have good food, some exploration, some shopping along the way, and excellent beaches!! We are going in the beginning of Sept.

What would you recommend? We’ve been eyeing the south of France OR Croatia (Dubrovnik, Hvar….). These were our top options at the moment. Are the beaches impressive in Croatia or south of France?
