Hawaii; an Airbnb out of the way, what’s the downside? Alternative?

For context I've never been to Hawaii, but me and my fiance's plan is to basically hang out in moderate solitude and then go out to eat a bunch, maybe do some stuff on the various islands, for a week in early August 2024

I noticed there's an enormous number of airbnbs which seem to be very private little bungalos, sometimes switch beachfront property….for shockingly affordable prices?

What's the downside to these locations? Are they so far out that getting anywhere for a nice dinner night is a whole ordeal?

If we're aiming for pretty private beach front what are some things to look for?

Some locations that popped up; – Waialua – Haleiwa – hauula – Hilo – Captain cook
