My husband and I are planning our honeymoon to Europe (going to Dublin, Edinburgh, London, Venice, and Rome). We’re planning to stay in each city no more than 2-3 nights at a time, so we’ll be hopping from place to place quite frequently. (It’s about a 2.5 week trip altogether)
I told my husband how we need to plan to pack really light because I don’t want to deal with the hassle of checking bags for every 1-hour flight between place to place. I’m hoping we can make due with a carry on suitcase (each) that fits in an overhead bin and a backpack each.
I feel like we we’d each be fine with just 2-3 pants, light layers, and one good jacket…
I also anticipate that at least one of the airbnbs that we’ll stay in may have a washer and dryer… We could look for that specifically out of any Airbnb we book for mid trip.
He was shocked and thinks I’m a little crazy for not wanting to bring big suitcases and just check them. I feel like it’s going to get in the way and make flying a hassle. I just don’t want to worry about it.
Help!!! Is it not as big of a deal as I think it is? Is it easy to check bags on smaller flights? (Examples: Dublin to Edinburgh, Edinburgh to London, London to Venice, Venice to Rome).
I’d love any and all advice. This will be our first time in Europe and I just want us to be prepared. Thanks!
