Honey moon trip to Italy

Want to know how I can start planning the proper honeymoon. My wife and I have agreed that Italy is our choice of destination.Her and I are racking up points on my Chase Sapphire to help pay for the flights( currently have $1400 in travel points). How should I go about planning a proper trip? Two cities we want to go are Rome and Venice. Is a proposed budget of 6.5-8 thousand enough for say a 6 day travel trip including flights, food, hotel( wherever we stay).
