My fiancé and I are planning part of our honeymoon in Vietnam this coming January (early Jan). We’ll be spending a few days split between Da Nang and Hoi An, and I’d love some advice on:
Hotels: We’re looking for 5-star options or boutique luxury that feel special and fun but not overly touristy. Ideally something with a cool vibe and a great location for exploring/eating.
Weather: I’ve read mixed things about central Vietnam in January (rainy season?) – is it still worth staying in Da Nang/Hoi A that time of year? Should we expect mostly indoor activities or do we still get some nice days?
Activities: – We’ll probably skip Ba Na Hills (seems a bit gimmicky) – Definitely want to do a cooking class and lots of street food tours/markets – Love walking and just exploring the streets – Shopping for days – Open to any other unique cultural experiences in the area
Basically looking for those “fun but not too touristy” honeymoon vibes: good food, cool streets to explore, some relaxation, and memorable experiences.
If anyone has stayed at hotels they loved in either city, or has “must-do” activities beyond the obvious, I’d be so grateful for your recs!
Thanks so much!
