Honeymoon in Maldives in September?

Hi all,

My fiancé and I have been considering a honeymoon in the Maldives, with an over water villa since it’s a joint dream destination. We would like to travel straight after the wedding so would be looking around mid September 2026. Is this a bad time to go? Seems like it’s towards the end of monsoon season.

I’m also struggling with the overwhelming choice of resorts, so any recommendations would be amazing. Especially if you recommend a different time of year to go.

We’re looking to go for 2 weeks but would consider 10 days minimum. Travelling from the UK. We don’t really drink alcohol, so maybe not too fussed on all inclusive but we’re big foodies so good food with breakfast, lunch and dinner included is a minimum. Ideally we’d prefer a la carte dining. We love music, water sports, spa and relaxing. Not so much into partying or laying on the beach for ages. Ideally don’t want to spend over £15k to be honest.
