Honeymoon Itinerary Help for September! Oktoberfest, Italy, and more

**EDIT: I’m getting torn apart in the other subreddit, my Dutch friend called all Volksfests “Oktoberfest” and when googling I kept seeing these different fests labeled as “other” Oktoberfests, sorry!

Hi! I originally posted this on r/Europetravel and wanted to post here for more suggestions.

Hi! My Partner (M30) and I(F28) plan to get married early-mid September in the US. We have few options we know we want: Oktoberfest & Italy. I have several questions. For some reason I tried posting before, but the post didn't go through.

1) What should we be focusing on in the parts of Italy we have family in? We have family in Italy (Province of Chieti, Tuscany, and Parma). 2) For Oktoberfest, I would love to know people's suggestions on where to go! We DO NOT want to go to Munich, and wouldn't mind even a smaller celebration.

3) If we were to stay in Europe for 2 weeks and had a $10k budget, what is something people absolutely suggest? We would probably use trains whenever possible to travel between places, would like cheaper options if possible, and wouldn't mind staying at hostels some days vs. private rooms. I would like to hear about more of Germany, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, Ireland & Scotland, and Spain/Portugal.

More background about us: We like Art, Music, Architecture, tattoos, walking around, nature (but nothing extreme like an excursion), and more (just ask me if you have something in mind!). We are fairly fit and currently walk to most places in our city. We aren't huge tour people and would rather self tour if possible. If cooking classes are a must in some areas, let us know! He has no dietary restrictions, but I am vegan. We don't know how to drive stick shift, but if commenters think driving is a good option, we can learn! We tend to like to have a more "locals" experience rather than doing all tourist activities. I have been to Europe, but he has not. I Have been to Amsterdam, Brussels, Istanbul, Antalya, and Izmir. All were great.
