Hello! My fiancé and I have been planning our honeymoon for the first week of July, and had originally settled on Xcaret Arte. The very top of our budget would be $7k, and originally when we had been looking at booking through Costco a 6 night trip was $5k, but it has now gone up to $7k. I am having a very hard time spending $2k more just because we missed whatever window on the cheaper room or discount or whatever it was. Should we just cut our losses and go anyways? We expanded our search if we were going to be spending an extra $2k anyways to also consider Sanctuary Cap Cana in the DR, Sandals Grenada, and Sandals Royal Bahamian. We will be traveling from Colorado so part of the appeal with Mexico is how close it is. Our must haves are all inclusive, adults only, a room that feels nice and cozy with no loud noises. We would consider other places but are not sure how exhausting a long travel day might be.
Sanctuary Cap Cana: Beautiful rooms, reports of lots of seaweed/sargassum this time of year, crabs and critters getting into the rooms. Average food.
Sandals Grenada: No seaweed, nice rooms
Sandals Royal Bahamian: Has it turned into a party zone in recent years?
Xcaret Arte: Easiest travel, fun activities, great food, but painful to spend $7k when a few weeks ago I could have spent $5k.
Should we be expanding our search elsewhere? I really didn't want to have to travel on flights for more than 9 hours, but maybe we could do an overnight flight and go further, but then might be dealing with a time change etc. We just wanted something relaxing and relatively easy. Any thoughts? Appreciate all feedback!
