How to decide on a resort in St Lucia!? They all seem so magical!

So my partner and I have talked about going on a low key honeymoon after eloping. No set time frame but I’m hoping for late April – just not sure if it’ll be 2025 or 2026.

I’ve been wanting to go to St Lucia for decades and because of that, and the Honeymoon aspect, I want to best, low key but adventurous, perfect vacation.

We do want to travel around the island and get in a local activity or two such as a snorkel, hike, sunset cruise or try a local restaurant.. but id say the main goals are eat sleep drink and ‘alone time’ wink. So I’m not sure how far we will actually venture.

Normally when I travel I budget real hard but I figure if there’s ever a time to save up and spoil ourselves – it’d be this. So I’m looking at the 10k range for the trip. Problem is that I’m so at a loss for where to stay and if AI packages are worth it and if that budget is even enough.

Top 4 spots we’re considering – looking for any insight to if AI is worth it, what the most secluded rooms are, where you felt most pampered, etc…

CAILLE BLANC The Mega All Inclusive package seems to have everything we’d be looking for. The views look great. But I can’t find a ton of info compared to other places. Is it as secluded as others. How’s the piton view? How’s the staff? Etc.

CALABASH COVE A private cottage on the beach? Love it. I’ve heard it’s a great place to snorkel too. I’m noticing however there’s no piton view and that’s one of the big draws for me to want to go. But is it so good I wouldn’t miss the view??

LADERA Ok. Right in between the pitons?? Sign me up!! But again I haven’t found much info. The rooms seem just ok. Not sure on the other amenities. But is it worth it just for the view and seclusion?

HOTEL CHOCOLAT This is the one I’ve been looking at longest and considered most. They don’t seem to have much in the way of excursions in their all inclusive but they seem like a good location to get around to do these things.

Any insight anyone has to any of these – or perhaps a location I missed?? And have you had the best luck booking direct? Using Costco vacations? Using an agent? Using a cheaper booking site? Calling and working with the resort itself?

Thank you for any comments. I can’t wait to take my dream vacation with my dream partner! 🥹♥️
