Japan vs Alps

Hello! We had a long list of dream honeymoon spots and narrowed it down to two: Japan or the Alps region.

We will be going in the spring of next year.

We are wanting more of an adventure honeymoon, so we will be moving around to different locations and sites vs staying at a single resort.

We went to Italy last year and loved it, so we are inclined to do Europe again. However, Japan has been on our to do list as well.

One thing I am a bit concerned about is navigating a plan for Japan and just navigating Japan in general. At least in Italy my basic Spanish got us somewhere (albeit pretty embarrassingly) if someone didn’t speak English, but Japanese is something entirely different. Plus I’ve heard it can be a challenge to navigate travel on the trains.

If anyone has suggestions or recommendations for either, I would love to hear your thoughts!
