Last minute honeymoon from LA?

My spouse and I unexpectedly have time for a 7-10 day honeymoon in early August, flying from LAX. Any ideas for something we could plan in time? We would like something outside the US mainland but not Europe (we are going next year). We are pretty adventurous and ideally want to scuba dive as part of the trip. We speak Spanish. We are not looking to pay luxury prices but looking for something a step above hosteling. Some of our favorite trips were the Caribbean coast of Colombia and a road-trip in Iceland. Any ideas for what we should do? Maybe Galapagos?
