Hello travelers 🩵 Maldives was always a bucket list destination for me and now that I am finally in a situation to afford the trip comfortably I went to SO/ Maldives – gorgeous new resort but lots of downsides. If any of you went to multiple resorts, had an amazing trip or have done lots of hotel research please provide your advice, I’d be thrilled to hear your recommendations.
Here is the criteria for my dream resort
- Budget ideally 1500-2000$ per night
- All inclusive
- Natural island – with very soft sand and marine life you can see when snorkeling
- Medium – Large resort island to explore by bike
- Overwater villa with pool and net
This is what SO/ Maldives didn’t provide for me it’s a man made island with super coarse sand which hurts when walking barefoot and only dead corals and rarely any fish. Too close to Male and very busy but the hotel rooms and food are incredible. The resort island is also super tiny and you see those whole island in 5 minutes on bike.
