Hey everyone! My fiance and i are very much struggling to decide on a honeymoon destination that won't break the bank. I know– Mexico is cheap!! However, we have already been to Mexico multiple times & don't want to do that. We also have been to Costa Rica, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Hawaii. We want a new destination. We'll be buying our flights on my credit card points. For hotel, we want to stay 10 nights for maximum of $5k total. We are seriously struggling to find an affordable option where the weather is good in May. I would really appreciate any and all recommendations!!
A little more about what we are looking for: we want a country that is safe to explore outside the resort. We love to swim and to hike. We also like to explore little towns, visit shops and eat good food. I'd like the destination's weather to be around 80 degrees F. We don't drink, so nightlife is not important to us. Note, we will be flying from LAX so we would prefer a destination with less than 10 hours of flying time from here. We did consider Bali, but it just seems like such a trekk after the stress of planning the wedding. So, we are looking for something a bit closer if possible.
