Looking for lake resort recommendations!

My fiancé and I are going to take a week long honeymoon the week of Sept 12th.

We initially wanted to go to Costa Rica, but we don’t want it to rain the entire time (correct me if I’m wrong on this!) it seems like everywhere warm (Caribbean/Mexico) is in hurricane season. We wanted a beachside resort, but a lake works just as well.

Now we’re looking for warm lake resorts within a 6hr flight from NYC. Budget is ~$350 per night.

We want a mix of warm weather, adventure and a lot of relaxing pool/lake time.

I’m totally overwhelmed with planning this, so feel free to give any and all recommendations. Thanks!
