Mexico or St. Lucia?

Hi everyone,
Me and my husband are planning to have a week long honeymoon in mid March and we're considering these options:

• Impression Moxché by Secrets Playa Del carmen
• Excellence Playa Mujeres
• 2 days at either Jade mountain, Sugar Beach or Ladera Resort and the rest of the days at either Sandals Grande or Sandals La Toc

Our priorities are: Good food, drinks and a beautiful beach or pools.
What's throwing us off is that St Lucia seems more like a special honeymoon destination but the all inclusive resorts look more outdated and the food looks just average while Mexican resorts look more upscale with decent variety of food. My husband says we could go to Mexico anytime later on and for this honeymoon we should probably do something unique so we're struggling to decide.

Please advice. We're flying out of NYC.
