On the struggle bus deciding on a location

So my finance and I are getting married in September. We are looking for somewhere that is within 3-4 hours of Miami airport somewhere in the Caribbean. I have looked honestly everywhere at every resort and I am really struggling to land on one. I am about to quit looking and just settle on balling out in Mexico even though we have been there several times.

My fiancé wants to be able to do some excursions like snorkeling or kayaking. I am kinda a snob when it comes to quality of food and accommodations.

We were told couple swept away in Jamaica was amazing but the photos make it really look very drab. Is there better resorts in Jamaica? If so which chain is the best? Secrets? Excellence? Sandals?

Someone PLEASE help us. I love the idea of st Lucia but we want a swimmable beach.

DR doesn’t seem to have the excursions that we want.

Looking to spend less than $6k ALL IN and wanting to go for either 5 or 6 nights anytime from sept to Nov. I am worried about hurricane season though so anyone who have traveled in September to these places, please let me know if they were an issue.
