Hi yall! This is more out of curiosity on which destination you would choose.
My husband and I are planning our honeymoon for next summer. Our three main criteria when choosing where to go was:
1. Whales whales whales and (sea/wildlife)
2. Gorgeous dramatic scenery
3. Domestic US Coastal with beaches (not necessarily warm ocean water)
For the last couple of weeks, I've scoured all the lists on the internet stating the best places in the US where whale watching is tops. After cross checking them all for total cost within our budget, we've decided on California or Alaska which we've never been to either.
California: Rent a convertible and drive the PCH & Big Sur
1 Night in Pismo Beach – 3 Nights in Monterey/Carmel – 2 Nights in Santa Barbara
or
Alaska: Rent a 4×4 and drive the Turnagain Arm – Kenai Peninsula
1-2 Nights in Homer – 3 Nights in Seward – 1 Night in Girdwood/Anchorage
