Orange county honey moon

So my husband and I are trying to plan a 7 day honey moon in california. We like the idea of being able to hike and see the mountains but also would love to stay on the beach somedays too. We were originally going to do a Pacific Coastal Highway trip and see Big sur and Pismo beach but ive heard highway 1 is currently closed. We're trying to plan our trip for mid to late August so not sure if it would be fully done by then. I came up with a new plan to stay in Orange County area and would like to know if anyone has done something similar or anyone who lives in the area thinks this is a good plan for a honeymoon. Also open to any ideas or suggestions you have! If theres anything you think im missing that is an absolute must see, let me know! 🙂
