Proximity to Portugal

Hello,

We are looking for ideas to do a honeymoon close to Portugal in July and August. We thought to do one week in Algarve and one week in Azores, however the water could be cool there as we compare it to Greek Islands that we enjoyed very much.

What would you recommend in close proximity to Portugal? Are there some romantic spots or hotels?

What do you think about Madeira, are there good spots for swimming and enjoying water? Is this a good spot for honeymoon?

We additionally though of going a bit more to the east from Algarve to southern Spain close to Tarifa and Gibraltar. Are there some cool spots we should look at?
