Resort Recommendations? – Mexico Cancun/Rivera Maya

Hi, my husband and I (24yr old F and M) are looking for a resort to go to during the December winter break in either Cancun or Rivera Maya and we can't seem to find a resort (despite the overwhelming amount of options) that fits what we're looking for. This would be our first trip to mexico together. Essentially, we're seeking a resort that has:

• Good beach
• Nice grounds (aka not a skyscraper/hotel)
• Good entertainment/night life (given our age), preferably at the resort itself
• Good food options
• Good relaxation spaces for the day
• Preferably 4 stars and up (all-inclusive)

Open to any price under $3K – but we figure the higher the price, the less overall entertainment and we lose our age group, but I could be wrong.

Any advice would be helpful!
