SFO & Hawaii Honeymoon in September

Context: UK based and flying from UK to San Francisco. Return flight from Honolulu to UK. Duration: 16 days (-2 days for flying). Budget: £6-8k.

We only have the first 2-3 days (SFO) planned and staying with family. We didn't realise how big Hawaii was and how there's so much to do which can be overwhelming. We're treating this as our big trip before settling down so we want to make the most of it.

After doing our research, we are looking into doing a bit of island hopping. We like a mix of excursions and chill days and would love to get recommendations to make the most our honeymoon.

1. Husband is a big fan of movies, so any recommendations for must see movie sites around San Francisco or Hawaii.
2. Hawaii accommodation: we're aware of displacement that is happening in Hawaii and conscious about where to stay as tourists, we are not looking at AirBnBs (we would like suites/apartments to do cooking etc) and looking at resorts/hotels and booking.com to find suitable places to stay.

We have been looking at Klook to get ideas for tours, day trips but would love to hear from those who are frequent travellers to Hawaii or San Francisco.
