Sicily vs. Sardinia vs. Mallorca

My wife and I are planning our 16 day honeymoon in June. We will start in Basque Country and finish in Venice – these tickets are booked.

However, we have like ~8 days to allocate and wanted some advice how to allocate them between Mallorca (easy to get to from Spain) and Sicily/Sardinia (from which it’s easy to get to Venice)

Rough plan right now after Basque Country is to spend 3 days in Mallorca, then 4 days in Sicily before flying to Venice. My fear is that by dividing as such, I’ll be doing both destinations a disservice.

We’ve also considered Sardinia but our research suggested it was very R&R focused and beachy with less history and culture to explore than Sicily

We aren’t looking for a party vibe and we don’t want to sit on a beach all day either. We enjoy exploring towns, understanding local culture (especially through culinary and visual art)
