We’ve (32f & 31m) just got back from our honeymoon in Thailand where we first spent 3 nights in Singapore. I wanted to share our experience (although limited!) as Reddit threads were really useful when planning our trip.
We booked 3 nights in Fullerton Bay which was a comfortable, stylish and friendly hotel. The room was lovely and bathroom felt luxurious. The lobby area which looks impressive from the photos was not setup as a lobby as events occurred (a wedding and another private event) while we were there meaning something about the hotel felt a bit lacking (as honeymooners on holiday). The hotel seemed maybe more catered to business clients. The pool area was not busy and seemed as though it was not intended to be used. The lantern bar was lovely. The breakfast was great.
We checked out early and went a spent our last night in marina bay sands. I had read that the rooms there were tired and needed an update and so our expectations were low on the room but we were excited to spend time at the pool and ce La vi in the eve. On arrival the welcome was amazing and staff very friendly. Two of the 3 towers have been fully renovated and the 3rd is now happening. We had one of the renovated rooms and it was absolutely gorgeous – nicest hotel room we have stayed in. The hotel has definitely more an ‘alive’ and honeymoon/ vacation vibe.
I don’t regret staying at the Fullerton bay first, as it was really friendly comfortable and classy. However Marina bay had the wow factor for our first time in Singapore.
I’ve seen others suggest raffles and we did go to the long bar for a Singapore sling. Walking through the hotel seemed romantic, special – we’d love to stay there in future.
🙂 hoping this helps a future couple planning their trip to Singapore!
