Good morning, honeymooners! My fiance and I (both in our early 30's) are getting married in September of this year and looking to honeymoon sometime in winter/early spring of 2026, ideally between January and April. We will be traveling from Michigan USA, so we're looking forward to somewhere that we can get warm and be by the water.
We are also looking forward to a destination where we can find a balance between relaxation and cultural immersion. We love trying foods and beverages that are unique to the region we're traveling (he works in the beer industry and looking forward to trying the local beer, but we enjoy all types of beverages so beer isn't a dealbreaker), and enjoy getting off the beaten path and away from usual tourist spots. For some context, I've been to Europe a couple of times, he's been to Hawaii, and together we've been to NOLA, Dominican Republic exploring around the country for 2 weeks, and an all-inclusive in Mexico. We were at the all-inclusive for 4 days, and we were feeling incredibly antsy by the end of our trip. We relax well, but love to explore and meet new people as well so an entire week of resort life is not for us. We're looking forward to a healthy balance of exploring around, but also relaxing by a pool or beach.
Unfortunately, there are still a lot of balls in the air in terms of how much PTO we're able to dedicate, and how much of a budget. We're kind of at the point right now that for the perfect trip for us, we'll make it work. We also have a couple hundred thousand points available for redemption through Chase and Bilt to help lighten the load on flights and hotels a bit.
Based on the criteria we've come up with so far, we're debating between Curacao, Thailand, Guatemala, and Greece. What would you suggest between these, or something else? Looking forward to your input 🙂
