I’m planning a honeymoon for my fiance and I, and we seem to have narrowed down our choice to Hawaii. We want to use as many Chase points as possible to limit the the cash cost of the whole trip. This, I understand, is a turn off for most travel agents.
I’m trying to decide if it’s even worth engaging with a travel agent when we want to really so heavily on points. Can anyone help answer the below questions for me?
- If we book our hotel(s) with points, will a travel agent be willing to just do flights and itinerary? What about just itinerary, if we want to book flights with points as well?
- Are there any upfront costs to pay for the things the TA is booking? My fiance and I do not have much in the form of a honeymoon fund right now, so we could not swing a large down payment.
If a TA does not make sense for us, does anyone have any tips for planning excursions without adding too much stress for being responsible for all the things you want to do?
