Trying to decide on location

My fiancé and I are trying to decide on our honeymoon. Some info/notes:

Date: ideally summer 2026

Flying out of either Rochester (NY) or Toronto. Flight length is flexible we just don’t want to spend days traveling or have multiple layovers

Budget: approximately $6K for flight and hotel. Not looking to spend thousands on outtings but it’s somewhat flexible

Duration: approximately 7 days (could potentially look for up to around 10 but not sure if it would fit our budget)

Location interests: I have posted about going on an Alaskan cruise before and that still is on the table. However, we’re looking more at a tropical destination now. Looking at possibly Hawaii or St. Lucia

I’m a little bit concerned about St. Lucia in July since it is hurricane season. I’ve heard that it is one of the safer destinations when it comes to hurricanes but I’m not sure. Any insight on that would be great!

Hawaii is a dream destination for me but I don’t have a ton of knowledge on it. I was looking at either Maui or Kauai. We would definitely want at least 1 or 2 days to just hang out and relax on the beach (assuming we choose tropics over Alaska). I think Maui is better for that? If we did an 8 day trip would it be worth it to do 4 days in Maui and 4 in Kauai? Is it enough time? Also would it be worth it to work with a travel agent?
