Hello! My partner and I got married beginning of June, and deciding on a honeymoon destination has been a STRUGGLE. Travelling is by far our favorite thing to do together, and have been all over the world. So deciding on our honeymoon destination is a very important decision to us. We usually like to have a mix of everything on our vacations. City life, good foodie spots, dive into culture/history, nature exposure, nightlife with cool bars, resort relaxation…the whole nine yards. Obviously, this leads to a somewhat "busy" itinerary.
At first, we were thinking locations like Japan, African safari, European Riviera's, Middle East islands with Pyramids….but have realized we would feel too pressured to see and do everything possible at locations like this. We are really trying to mainly focus on the relaxation part for this specific trip, it being our honeymoon and all lol.
So, long story short, we are trying to pick a more "traditional" honeymoon island(s) trip. Currently, we are trying to decide between a handful of them: Mauritius, Maldives, Seychelles, Fiji, French Polynesia (Bora Bora, Tahiti, Moorea, or a combo), Samoa. Please let us know if there's another major one I'm missing. Trying to avoid Greek islands, already been there. Also trying to avoid Southeast Asia area, been there too. The highlight will be resort relaxation on beaches. Definitely want to get pampered for part of the trip. But would also like SOME other aspects sprinkled in here and there, whether it be cool hikes, culture exposure, interesting excursions, good nightlife, amazing food, etc. From the research I've done already, Mauritius seems to fit the bill without being SUPER expensive, but would like some outside input.
Time of year: Late August to Mid September (I know most Caribbean islands are not good options during this time).
Duration: Around 2 weeks, give or take a couple days
Budget: Would prefer to keep it under 15k
TIA!!!
