I’m looking for a central hub, but my husband wants a death march.

As the title states, my husband and I will be looking to celebrate our honeymoon in Europe and are deciding on location. We’re fond of Edinburgh, Paris, and Venice, but are totally open. My husband wants to maximize his time, but I would prefer to not do a death march. We’re looking anywhere between 8-10 days (not including travel days) and around $5,500 – $6,000 USD not including flights.

I love the idea of a central hub that provides access to many locations to scratch the itch for my husband. I’m well aware that Paris alone can be explored in 10 days. I don’t really want to do London as I find it to be even more expensive.

I’m fortunate to have travelled to France and Italy for work (wine industry) and have visited small villages and ultra regional cuisines. But for our honeymoon, I’m wondering if a big city would be the best way to go.

For reference, we are not beach people. We would be going for history, food, and museums.

My problem is I want to go everywhere but I know it isn’t feasible.

I’m also open to other suggestions!!

Edit to add: we are pretty open to timeline, but I like May or September the most.
