Santorini day trip from Chania?

I'm planning a 2-week honeymoon in Chania at the end of August. I'd love to do a trip to Santorini for a change of scenery, preferably as a day trip. Does anyone reckon that would work? Alternatively, we could add a few days onto the end of the trip but that could be expensive and complex
