Where to go on Honeymoon?

I was wondering if anyone could help or if people have been to the places I’m going to suggest and could give some insight please. My boyfriend and I went to Croatia a few years back and adored it. We stayed at a hotel that was beach front and went on walks from there, into the town, had beach days and also went on excursions to national parks etc. We absolutely love being by the sea and the beach was fantastic- our only complaint is that there was no sand however the sea itself was unbelievably gorgeous so this didn’t bother us too much. We’re not the type to sit around a resort or beach alllll day but do love having 2-3 days of this and the rest exploring.

I’ve been thinking about Sardinia or Sicily for our honeymoon or lake Garda or lake como, or even doing half by a lake, half by a beach as we love looking at historic sites and nature reserves.

I’ve seen recently some people say these places are underwhelming compared to social media or that you’d need a car to enjoy Sicily/ Sardinia. We’re not planning on getting a car.

My boyfriend actually wants to go back to Croatia and stay back where we stayed with perhaps a suite room and maybe go to somewhere else in Croatia while we are there. I can’t decide whether we should go back as we loved it so much or try one of the suggested places in Italy? We’re not a massive fan of crowds and like things to do but also don’t want to not be by a beach.

Any suggestions? Thanks 🙂
