November/December recommendations?

My fiancé and I are getting married in June and are looking to plan our big honeymoon for the end of the year. I am currently in an online masters program, so November and December would work best for my school schedule. We are going to Unico 20 87 in Mexico in July for three nights, so we’d be looking to avoid Mexico in favor of trying somewhere new.

My fiancé and I have pretty different travel styles so we are looking to meet in the middle. I lived in Thailand for about a year and traveled around Cambodia and Laos during my time there, so I’m pretty adaptable to different living styles. My fiancé, on the other hand, has only been to all inclusives and can get pretty flustered without modern amenities (ac, on site restaurants, etc.). I love to be pampered but since we are going to an all inclusive this summer, I think it would be nice to go somewhere a more intimate and private. Definitely not opposed to all inclusive but I don’t want it to have that huge resort feel for this trip.

Right now, I have been looking at Belize, Aruba, and Bali. St. Lucia looks beautiful as well but I haven’t found any hotels there that seem in our budget and aren’t a big resort. We would like the focus of the trip to be relaxation, with options for activities like snorkeling and exploring any cool local attractions. I love the idea of Bora Bora, Fiji, and the Maldives, but the price has been a bit of a turn off. I really want to make sure we get the most bang for our buck. Is there anywhere else I should be considering, and if so, what hotels would you recommend? I’d prefer to either have a private pool or be right on the beach. Our budget is around $10k but spending less would be preferable. Any specific hotel recommendations would be much appreciated! Thank you in advance!
